By its nature, the Master’s programme at the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) is an international programme, having been founded by the Higher School of Economics and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since it was established in 2007, one of its greatest strengths has been its ability to attract talented Russian and international students alike.

Nowadays, psychology has a very specific application in the world of business, as not a single large company in the world is able to get by without a staff of professional psychologists. Ksenia Babat, Senior HR Manager at Puma, tells Success Builder what a business psychologist does, how to start building a strategy for professional success as a student, and why she holds coaching sessions on the weekends.

Albina Manikeeva, HSE graduate in economics, is vice president for finance at AIESEC, an international student organization. She spoke to us about the opportunities to participate in international study exchange programmes, and professional and social internships.

This year, Panagiotis Sarantidis, from Greece, graduated from HSE’s International Business programme, headed by Irina Kratko. According to Prof. Kratko, foreign students’ motivations for choosing Moscow as a place to study are quite varied. Some of them intend to connect their future career with Russia, already having ideas to establish joint ventures here. Others, for example HSE students from the United States, have previously studied the Russian language, so their interest is perhaps rooted in the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Pavel Solomatin is one of the first wave of graduates from the HSE Faculty of Mathematics. He successfully graduated from the undergraduate and master’s programmes, and then enrolled in the Leiden University doctoral programme, where he is currently studying number theory under the academic supervision of Bart de Smit.

A total of 25 graduates of HSE’s Master’s Programme in Business Informatics have also received an academic diploma from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

Any budding economist would dream of rising on the career ladder to the IMF and consulting different countries’ governments on economic policy. HSE alumnus Vadim Khramov tells Success Builder how to move towards new goals, make an impact on the European economy, and put his teaching experience to use in the world of investment banking.

Maxim Brodovsky, a graduate of HSE’s Faculty of Management, now the Faculty of Business and Management, currently works as the Director of the hotels Holiday Inn Moscow – Lesnaya and Holiday Inn Moscow – Suschevsky. In an interview with HSE, Brodovsky talks about students in the Experience Economy: Hospitality and Tourism Management programme, the perks of working in a hotel, and the future of the hotel business in Russia.

The first 36 students have successfully defended their final projects and graduated from the joint HSE-FIFA/CIES Sports Management Programme. Their ideas will be put to use at various sports organisations and during the organisation of the 2018 World Cup.
