HSE Alumni Awards ceremony was held online this year. In 2020, 104 alumni were nominated for the award and 12 000 people submitted their votes.

Any student or 2020 graduate of a Russian or international university is eligible to take part in the Student Research Paper Competition. Papers can be submitted from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at HSE University since 2003.

Nadezhda Lozina, graduate of the master's programme in Applied Cultural Studies, came to HSE University from Moldova. Nadezhda told HSE news service about  the process of enrolling at HSE University and what role the HSE Global Scholarship Competition has played in her life.

Maria Melnikova, a graduate of the HSE Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism Master’s programme inUrban Development and Spatial Planning, has written a book entitled Not Just Prefabs: The German Experience of Working with Mass Housing Neighbourhoods. She describes how Germany investigates and solves problems of housing in the city suburbs. Maria spoke with the HSE News Service about her interest in this topic, what she thinks about urban renewal and what she does in Berlin.

When Roman Stupin decided to go back to school after a decade of teaching and working with innovative startups, he chose HSE. That path started with continuing education programmes, then a Master’s degree and now postgraduate studies. 'I can't deny myself the pleasure of studying,' Mr Stupin admits. HSE University has risen from fourth to third place in the Superjob University Ranking in terms of the salaries made by young professionals in the legal field who graduated in 2014–2019. According to the ranking’s authors, our graduates can expect to earn an average of 100,000 rubles a month in Moscow.

This year for the first time in HSE history, the graduation ceremony will take place at one time for all four HSE campuses. Almost 11,000 students from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Perm will gather online to bid the university farewell and celebrate the next chapter in their lives.

HSE University alumni working in economics and finance, earn an average of 115,000 rubles a month in their first five years of work after graduation. This is the second best result among universities, according to data from the Superjob job search website.

For three years already, HSE University has appeared in the Top-5 of Russia’s best universities according to the RAEX Ranking. In terms of demand for graduates among employers, HSE University has risen to the second place, while also improving its indicator for ‘environment for high-quality learning’.

SuperJob, a job search service, has published a ranking of technical universities based on earnings of graduates in the 2014-2019 cohort. HSE University has improved its position this year, rising from seventh to fifth place in the ranking.
