ICEF Graduate Receives PhD from Harvard
Vladimir Mukharlyamov graduated from ICEF in 2008, before completing an MA at the London School of Economics, and a PhD at Harvard University. In spring 2016, Vladimir defended his PhD thesis at Harvard, and in August he takes up his post as professor in finance at Georgetown University.

'At ICEF there’s Enough Room to Be Creative'

Andrei Kostylev graduated from the ICEF Master’s Programme in 2012, and is now a Senior Manager in the Strategic Direction department at the state corporation Rosatom. On Saturdays, Andrei leads a course in Business Negotiation and workshops on ‘The Foundations of Banking and Finance' for ICEF students. Andrei told us a little about his studies and career.

HSE Sports Managers Win FIFA/CIES Network Prize

The HSE Sports Management graduates’ project for new style sports academies was named the best project of the international network FIFA/CIES in 2015 by a jury at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich on January 14th.

Polina Polunina, a 2012 graduate of HSE’s undergraduate programme in Mathematics, took second place at the Summer Alphathon — a global competition in which students and recent graduates from leading universities create financial and mathematical models. The competition was held with the support of WorldQuant, an investment company.

Kirill Pogorelskiy, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Warwick University, UK, starting August 2015. Completed his Master's in Applied Mathematics and Information Technology, specialising in Mathematical Modelling in 2009 and began a PhD in Social Sciences at Caltech, USA, which he finished this year. In an interview Kirill talked about teaching at HSE, his academic interests and doing a PhD at a top American university.
