In autumn 2021, the HSE Banking Institute will launch a new online master’s programme, Master of Finance, on Coursera. The educational content is based on HSE’s Financial Analyst master’s programme. Sergey Trofimov, a graduate of the programme, spoke about its benefits and the competencies required of financial analysts.

How to bring together artificial intelligence, robotics and art? Will a robotic artist be commercially successful? Does the state need private space companies? What difficulties can entrepreneurs who decide to pursue Elon Musk’s path expect? Graduates of the HSE Department of Innovation Management have tried to answer these and other questions. At their theses defence, Davit Meliksetyan and Alexei Baskakov presented their studies on ‘Start-Up as a Thesis’ about creating one’s own business projects. The HSE News Service talked to the graduates about the topic of their theses, and their relevance and potential for the future.

As a student of the first cohort of the HSE Master of Data Science online programme, Alexey Babenkov not only gained new knowledge but also used that knowledge to find a new job.  He told HSE News Service how his online studies are organised, described the advantages of remote learning and explained which courses are especially useful.

HSE University has risen from fourth to third place in the Superjob University Ranking in terms of the salaries made by young professionals in the legal field who graduated in 2014–2019. According to the ranking’s authors, our graduates can expect to earn an average of 100,000 rubles a month in Moscow.

HSE University alumni working in economics and finance, earn an average of 115,000 rubles a month in their first five years of work after graduation. This is the second best result among universities, according to data from the Superjob job search website.

For three years already, HSE University has appeared in the Top-5 of Russia’s best universities according to the RAEX Ranking. In terms of demand for graduates among employers, HSE University has risen to the second place, while also improving its indicator for ‘environment for high-quality learning’.

SuperJob, a job search service, has published a ranking of technical universities based on earnings of graduates in the 2014-2019 cohort. HSE University has improved its position this year, rising from seventh to fifth place in the ranking.

HSE University Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov and HSE alumnus Vladimir Potapov, CEO of VTB Capital Investment, have opened a student co-working space at MIEM HSE on Tallinskaya Ulitsa.
