In his annual New Year's video address, HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov wished everyone a happy holiday. 'This year we learned to help each other,' the rector said. 'In the coming year, may we take more delight and make new friends.'

Any student or 2020 graduate of a Russian or international university is eligible to take part in the Student Research Paper Competition. Papers can be submitted from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at HSE University since 2003.
Nadezhda Lozina, graduate of the master's programme in Applied Cultural Studies, came to HSE University from Moldova. Nadezhda told HSE news service about the process of enrolling at HSE University and what role the HSE Global Scholarship Competition has played in her life.

September 4, 2019 was a day of firsts for the School of Psychology and the Centre for Cognition and Decision Making. Zachary Yaple, who was born in the United States and grew up in England, defended his dissertation, 'Neurophysiological Correlates of Risky Decision-Making'. His defense marked the first PhD to be prepared at the Centre for Cognition and Decision Making and the first PhD to be awarded to an international student by the Doctoral School of Psychology.
