HSE University graduates and the Nochlezhka charity organisation have launched a social media project called ‘Gde-to ryadom’ (‘Somewhere Nearby’) about volunteering to help homeless people. The project offers a look at volunteer work from various perspectives through personal stories, expert opinions, and interactive cases.

The HSE ISSEK English-language Master’s programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation is accepting applications. This academic year, HSE University launched the first online master's programme ‘Master of Computer Vision’ supervised by Professor Andrey Savchenko. Alexander Rassadin, graduate of the Faculty of Informatics, Mathematics, and Computer Science (HSE Nizhny Novgorod) and active participant of many CV projects, is delivering the course ‘Deep Learning for Computer Vision’ as part of the curriculum for this new programme. Alexander told us how he once wrote an algorithm for robot movement, the moment he realized what his dream job was and why analyzing sports games is more interesting than predicting a tsunami.

In September, the new HSE online master’s programme in Business Analytics launched on Coursera. Its educational content is close to the practice-oriented on-site HSE master’s programme in Corporate Finance. Graduates of the programme go on to pursue brilliant careers in business, retail, banking and finance, as well as create their own start-ups.

Olga Shikhantsova is a Bachelor’s graduate from the Faculty of Economic Studies (FES) and a Master with a degree in Financial Economics, ICEF. In the early spring of 2021, she joined the SpeedInvest venture capital fund as a Principal with a focus on seeding Fintech. In May, Olga was included on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the Finance and Investment category. In this interview with the HSE News Portal, Olga speaks about her work in the venture capital industry, time management, management philosophy and her affection for HSE University.

Nikolay Kuzin, a 2011 graduate of ICEF, is brand manager at Sanofi Pasteur (France), a company that has been manufacturing vaccines for many years and where he oversees the launch of new products in Eastern European markets. We spoke with Nikolay about how he combines the background in finance with the administrative responsibilities in his position, about the unique nature of French master’s programmes, about how long it really takes to develop a vaccine, and about why Europeans trust medical developments in their countries.
